Investigations

Investigations that stand up to a second look

A plan for each interview, notes kept encrypted, a timeline of facts with their sources, evidence with fingerprints, and a report you can print. POSH inquiries run step by step, with the Act's clocks.

What it does today

Interview plans

Questions suggested from the report, by plain rules, for each person to be heard. Notes are encrypted with the company's key.

A timeline of facts

Dated facts, each with where it came from, so the story of the case can be checked.

Evidence with fingerprints

Every file gets a SHA-256 fingerprint and loses hidden details such as location. A custody log records who handled it, and evidence packs check the fingerprints.

The investigation report

Scope, findings and recommendations, with a first draft built from the case. Printable, with the case summary.

Outside advisers

An outside lawyer or investigator can be given one case, until a set date, and nothing else.

Legal holds

A hold stops a case from being deleted or anonymised. Releasing it takes two people.

The POSH inquiry, step by step

Each step recorded once, with its date; a correction keeps the earlier entry.

  1. Inquiry started

The 90-day clock runs from the complaint date (s.9, s.11(4)).

  2. Copy to the respondent

Within 7 working days (Rule 7(2)), with a cover letter in the chosen language.

  3. The reply

Within 10 working days (Rule 7(4)), or recorded as not received before going on.

  4. Conciliation

Only if the complainant asks, before the first hearing (s.10). A settlement ends the inquiry.

  5. Interim relief

Recorded while the inquiry runs (s.12).

  6. Hearings

Who sat is checked: at least three members, the Presiding Officer among them.

  7. Findings and report

Findings, then the report sent (s.13(1)). The committee's report is frozen and sealed when sent.

  8. Employer's action and appeal

The action within 60 days (s.13(4)); an appeal within 90 days (s.18).

A summary, not legal advice. Your lawyers will know which rules apply to your company.

Said plainly

  • Suggested questions and the report's first draft come from plain rules, not AI. They are a starting point for an investigator, not a finding.
  • AI help on the server is off unless a company switches on a model it chooses. Names and hidden details are removed before anything is sent to it, and nothing is kept.
  • The product records an investigation; people still run it. It does not give legal advice.
