Modern slavery statement

For the year 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.

Introduction

This statement covers SpeakUpSafe, the speak-up and case-management service for companies in India, the Middle East and the European Union. By modern slavery we mean slavery, servitude, forced or bonded labour, child labour and human trafficking.

No law requires a business of our size to publish this statement. We publish it because helping people speak up about wrongdoing is our work, and we hold ourselves to the same standard. We oppose modern slavery in every form, in line with India's Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act 1976, the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986 and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, and with the EU's rules on forced labour.

How we assess the risk

We look at the risk in our own work and in our supply chain by what each supplier provides, whether it relies on temporary or contracted workers, and where the work is done. We use published risk indices, the statements suppliers publish, and what we know from working with them.

Our organisation

  • The risk in our own work is low: we write and run software, and the people who do it are skilled professionals.
  • When someone joins us we check they are of legal working age, that they join by their own choice and keep their own documents, and that they are paid at least the legal minimum, on time, into their own account.
  • Everyone who works on SpeakUpSafe agrees to our code of conduct when they start and again each year, and learns what modern slavery looks like and how to report it.
  • Anyone, inside or outside SpeakUpSafe, can raise a concern about modern slavery with us at [email protected], in confidence, without fear of retaliation.
  • We look at what is raised with us each year to judge whether these steps work.

Our supply chain

  • The risk in our supply chain is also low. It is short: cloud hosting, network protection and email delivery from large providers, named in our Trust centre, and the equipment we work on.
  • We expect every supplier to respect human rights and to obey the law on labour, and we read the modern slavery statement of each supplier that publishes one.
  • We review each supplier when we choose it and once a year after that, including news about how it treats workers.
  • Our contracts ask suppliers to obey every law that applies to them, including on forced labour and trafficking.
  • If we find modern slavery in our supply chain, we will look into it, ask the supplier to put it right with a plan we can check, use our rights under the contract, and end the relationship if it is not put right.

Helping other organisations

Our product lets companies hear from the people who work for them and for their suppliers, including contract and migrant workers, anonymously, by voice and in their own language. Each report is followed to the end with clocks the law sets. This is how we can do the most good: by helping thousands of workers be heard.

Looking forward

We will keep opposing modern slavery wherever we have influence, and change how we work when we learn something new. We will keep building tools that help our customers find and stop it in their own business and supply chains.
